Whether I am working with groups of writers, or I am training staff to support the writing needs of others, I offer interactive workshops that engage participants through pair-sharing, group discussion, and digital media. Excited by novel research in the field of composition and rhetoric, as well as psychology of learning and wellness, I aim to connect writers with experts in specific support services, while also collaborating with discipline experts to develop unique workshops that satisfy student and faculty needs.
I have extensive experience as a writing consultant, and writing program administrator. Having administered writing centers in numerous institutional settings (two-year colleges, private and public research universities, high schools, and community programs), I have continued to provide WAC/WID support such as developing and facilitating writing workshops for a variety of groups with varying writing needs. I have supported faculty writers in goal setting, accountability and process-oriented development of writing skills. I have provided writing pedagogy workshops for new and senior faculty. I have run workshops on legal brief writing for doctoral candidates in a law and society program. I have run week-long training workshops for educators in a summer English bridge program that supports second language learners. I have worked with postdoctoral fellows on academic job market materials. And I have worked with high school students on developing their college entrance essays. I have also provided K - 12 teacher development workshops. Additionally, I have consulted on the development and assessment of writing centers and writing programs in Japan, China, and Singapore, as well as in Vermont, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Mississippi. Below you can read about some of the workshops and writing retreats I have run. |
