I'm a highly motivated teacher and scholar who constantly searches for ways to innovate my field. I thrive in high pressure and high stakes situations, such as carrying out large-scale programmatic changes in four-year and two-year college writing centers or implementing new writing program assessment and placement practices. My scholarly and programmatic interest in fair and "well" workplace practices have profoundly influenced the way I direct writing centers to be inclusive and intentionally anti-racist spaces that focus on the wellness of both center workers as well as center clients.
I am currently Assistant Professor of Writing and Rhetoric and Director of the Writing Center at Middlebury College. I have been an administrator in writing centers at four different institutions and have developed robust programs that include one-on-one consulting, writing groups, workshops, and synchronous and asynchronous online consulting. I have experience with assessment, budgeting, publicity and marketing, community literacy initiatives, workshop development, as well as qualitative and quantitative research. I have also acted as a consultant for establishing writing centers at other colleges and universities, both domestically (Ohio) and abroad (Japan, China, and Singapore).
Whether in my administrative, pedagogical, or scholarly pursuits, I bring passion and a results-oriented approach to my work.
